“It’s not complicated,” says man who has thought about this a lot while eating breakfast
JUNCTION CITY — In an exclusive interview conducted at a local diner, a man has explained what’s wrong with this country, solving in 12 minutes a problem that has eluded policymakers, academics, and elected officials for decades.
The man, who was eating the breakfast special, laid out a comprehensive analysis of America’s problems while periodically pausing to signal the waitress for more coffee.
“You want to know what’s wrong with this country?” he began, though no one had asked. “I’ll tell you what’s wrong with this country.”
The Diner Interview: What’s Wrong With This Country
According to the man, what’s wrong with this country boils down to several interconnected factors that the “elites” refuse to acknowledge.
“First off, nobody wants to work anymore,” he explained, echoing a sentiment first expressed in 1894 and every year since. “In my day, we worked. Hard. None of this quiet quitting or work-life balance nonsense.”
When asked what specific policies might address employment concerns, the man waved dismissively. “I’m not a policy guy. I’m just saying what everybody’s thinking. And what everybody’s thinking is that something’s gone wrong.”
He then spent four minutes discussing how things used to be different, though he struggled to identify a specific year when things were better.
Common Sense Solutions To What’s Wrong
“The solution is common sense,” the man continued, tapping the counter for emphasis. “We need to get back to common sense. The problem is, they don’t have common sense anymore.”
The man did not specify who “they” were, but indicated the category included politicians, professors, journalists, and his nephew’s wife, who has “opinions about everything.”
Other diner patrons nodded along with his assessment. “He’s right,” said a woman in an adjacent booth. “Someone needed to say it. I don’t know exactly what he said, but it needed to be said.”
The man’s proposed solutions included: “straighten things out,” “get back to basics,” and “enough with the nonsense.” Furthermore, he advocated for unspecified “accountability” and suggested that someone should “do something.”
Why The Media Won’t Report What’s Wrong With This Country
“The mainstream media won’t tell you any of this,” the man said, despite currently speaking to reporters from three different outlets. “They’re afraid of regular people like me who tell it like it is.”
He expressed gratitude to Newswax for having the courage to interview someone in a diner, a journalistic practice that he said had been “abandoned by the coastal elite media.”
At press time, the man was explaining what’s wrong with baseball to no one in particular.
