Daryl Stokes, Law Enforcement Correspondent

A 23-year veteran of law enforcement, Daryl Stokes brings street-level experience to his coverage of policing and public safety. After more than two decades on the job---patrol, narcotics, gang unit, and training officer---Daryl medically retired in 2020 and now writes about what it actually takes to keep communities safe. He has been in more situations than most reporters can imagine and believes the men and women who wear the badge deserve support, not second-guessing from people who've never had to make a split-second decision. Daryl lives in Arizona and contributes to several law enforcement advocacy organizations. His civil case was settled without admission of wrongdoing. Look it up.
